Today I have a very mixed bag of goodies for you readers. Some satire and some hard news. Oh and a song also.
Where to start? Well, I'll go slow and easy, so satire first, then we'll get to the nasty stuff and end with a good song.
First up is from the Babylonbee.com. Yeah, OK it is sort of about that awards show the other day that I never watch. Yes, I mean the "Oscars". NO, this has no bearing on a cat named Oscar who went missing, but did come home a bit worse for wear, but is alive and being cared for by his kind, loving humans again.
Here is the link to the host of the awards show and, yeah, this asshat clown IS a hypocrite.
man-got-famous-showing-scantily-clad-women-bouncing-trampolines-lectures-nation-sexual-propriety/
If you think I'm being harsh on this asshat, well, take your complaints to somebody who may actually give a shit. By the way, I do recall catching a few minutes of his old "Man Show" years back while flipping through the TV channels late one night when I couldn't sleep. I found it to be stupid. Actually, I thought it was so dumb that you could hear the host and his audience pronounce the "b" at the end of the word dumb. And the great 'Merikkka public is supposed to take lectures on morality from this little unfunny turd? Jesus H. fucking Christ on a goddamn crutch! Give me a break. OK, Trump IS our current POTUS, but that does NOT mean we all have to roll in the gutter. Oh, and YES goddamn it all I am NOT having a good day today and am extra sarcastic and feeling more nasty than normal. I've said this before and may do so again later on, nobody forces you to stop by here nor to read what I post. Look at the line under the photo at the very top of this blog. This is a space on the interwebs where I can say anything I feel like saying. I get nasty when I am in pain and today is one of those days. Don't like it, stop reading now and go to some other web site/blog.
This next is also from the Babylonbee.com. Yeah, the Onion seems to be a bit slow today. Well, it is probably me and my shit mood, but ah well, here is the other satire link.
True patriots
Sure sounds like something Faux Noise would really do. Yeah, I know, I AM a sarcastic/cynical old broken down SOB. Just remember, I have legal documentation that proves I AM an SOB.
Now we get into hard news. This was written by Ray McGovern. Yes, he was a US Army/CIA intelligence analyst for over 30 years. He is a founding member of VIPS. VIPS is the abbreviation/acronym for Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity. He and his fellow VIPS posters are well worth your time to read. Ray was arrested for standing and turning his back to a certain politician a few years ago. he did this in a public place that was pretty much packed.
Any who, yes, it is about what is now called "Russia-gate". Holy shit, can't we ever let this 10 mile long train of fresh cow pies just ride off into the sunset where it belongs? The way this damn fool bullshit story just keeps drawing out of its grave, I wouldn't bet against your grandkids talking about this bullshit crap as they collect what little Social Security they may be able to get in their old age. This "story" is like the undead, yeah, Russia-gate IS a damn zombie.
Well, Ray gives his take on the newest asshats to jump on this broken down band wagon.
Progressive journalists jump the shark
I had not know much about Ms. Mayer until this article by Mr. McGovern, but I had seen Mr. Uygur before. I'd seen his show on some TV channel a few years back. I seem to recall he even had a time slot at MSNBC for a time. I never quite trusted him though. I think being skeptical is a good thing in 'Merikkka now days. With news media, when a person gets a national forum, they usually have sold out to the powers that be. Oh, they may start out with good intentions. They want to be truth tellers and do real investigative work, but to get the big bucks, well, they need to sell out and become asshats like Brian Williams. yep, a bloody damn liar. Hey, that means they could drop being any sort of journalist and just go into politics! How can you tell if a politician mislaying? heir lips are moving!
OK, now a song. This is another oldie, but even though it also dates from the Vietnam war era, I think it applies equally today. It is by the Association. Give it a listen, then replay it again and really listen to the lyrics and think about what is being said in this song.
Requiem for the Masses
OK, as always, please TRY and treat all others you come in contact with each day that way you want to be treated. Yes, even this old, broken down, sarcastic/cynical/heathen/atheist actually does think that if we all TRY to do this every day we can make this world a much nicer place for us all. Just give it a try folks. You have nothing to lose by trying and you may gain so much.

Just a few extras, because I feel like it
First off one more from the Onion. As the clowns show that is the US White House and the high turn over of the staff there, this one seems appropriate. Well it does to me and I find it to be funny.
Nation not sure how many ex-Trump staff
This next link is from the BabylonBee.com. It puts a whole new "spin" on how the TV news spins what passes for news in 'Merikkka. I also see it as very funny.
CNN purchases industrial sized washing machine
And finally, I will leave you folks with a nice song from my youth.
This is by the Association and is quite nice. It may make your Monday seem a bit nicer even. Give it a listen. Oh, no lyrics on the You Tube site for this song, sorry but not every song on You Tube has the lyrics with the song. Ah well, we can't have it all, all the time. Such is life though. Win some, lose some, the other times, you get rained out.
Time for Life
Until next time, please just try to be nice to each other. It could make this world a better place for all of us and, you just may like doing it.

An old Vietnam era song that still applies today.
I know, two posts in one day. Well, I was listening to my MP3 player and this song came up. I knew I had to share it with you readers of this blog. The song is by Steppenwolf and it is titled "Monster". The lyrics are on the You Tube video site, but they are below the main view area. Just click the spot that says show more and the entire set of lyrics are there for you to read.
Monster
Yes, it IS a long song, over 9 minutes, but listen, really listen, or at least read the lyrics. It is worth the time in my view.
I have always liked the ending portion of the song; "America, where are you now? Don't you care about your sons and daughters? Don't you know we need you now? We can't fight alone against the monster."
Yes, it was written during the damn fool Vietnam war, but in my opinion, it applies as much today as it did then. Maybe even more so now days.
OK, until next time, PLEASE just try to treat all others the way you want to be treated. We can make this world a much nicer place for all if we all just try this one simple thing.

From the Onion, and yes, I like it.
Hope you all had a good Caturday. I found this late yesterday and almost added it to the Caturday post. Well, here it is now.
Again, this is from the satire/spoof news site the Onion. Often there seems to be as much, if not more, truth in satire than the entire US MSM.
Pope Francis finds self in hell
And now, just because I feel like it, some extra LOL cats.
Until net time, please just try and treat all others you meet each day the way you want to be treated.

Hey everybody, it's Caturday!
Not to spoil your Caturday, but I need to get you folks to read an article that I think everybody needs to read. It was written by a friend of mine. We have never met in person, but have exchanged emails and our own views over some years. I wish I could write even one tenth as well as Missy does. She keeps her articles short and to the point. Me, well, I go on and on……nearly without end. I also tend to go off on odd tangents. Well, without further comment from me, here is her latest article. It was posted to the Counterpunch web site last weekend. Yes, I am slow lately. Well, my health has decided to interfere with my posting and even my web surfing recently. It may improve, but I recommend nobody holds their breath waiting for any improvement in my health. As I have stated numerous times, I am way past my sell by date.
OK, here is the link and you really do need to read this.
Message to new activists
Pay particular attention to the quote she has in the article by Emma Goldman. Yes, this one; "If voting changed anything. They'd make it illegal". How's that for being optimistic?
And now, the reason for Caturday, yep, LOL cats.

OK, that will do for today from me. I'll try and post more often, this is not a promise however. Notice, I said I'll try. I only make promises that I know I can keep. I am not sure about promising to post more often, so all I can do is say that I';; try and post more here. I'll at least do my best to stay current with the Caturday postings.
Until next time, please TRY and treat everybody you meet each day the way you want to be treated. This world is getting nastier by the minute and we need to try and reverse this trend. I am 100,000% sure we can, IF we all try and treat others the way we want to be treated. This is more important now than ever people. Please just TRY. We can make this world a much nicer place for all.

Yes, I know, I missed Caturday last week
I suppose I should apologize as I missed Caturday posting last Caturday. Well, I wasn't feeling very good so that will have to satisfy you as an apology, or what will pass as one.
To sort of make up for that, I offer a nice song and some extra LOL cats as a pre-Caturday post.
Write me a song
The song isn't very long, but please DO listen to the lyrics. You may actually enjoy it. I have liked it since I first heard it way back.
And now, some extra LOL cats to get you set for Caturday, which is tomorrow.
OK, that will do for today. I will try and post more LOL cats for the weekly Caturday post and maybe even another link to a very good article that I think needs to be read by everybody. The link is awaiting the permission of the author.
Until next time, please TRY and treat everybody you meet each day the way you want to be treated. Try people, hells bells, this world is just getting so damn nasty we must try and reverse this trend towards being rude, crude and downright nasty.

Hey, guess what? It's Caturday…..again. Enjoy your day.
Yes folks, it is once again Caturday. Funny how this comes around every week. Well, as an earlier posting of a small LOL cat says, when you retire every day is Caturday.
I am still sick at heart over the recent mass killings at a school in Florida. I posted a bit on this the other day and really have nothing else to add to that post. As I said then and a time or more before, I am NOT against personal gun ownership. I also stated the fact that I own more than one gun. A gun is just a tool. Yes, it is not a tool that will help you build something, like a hammer is a tool that you can use to build something. Still, a gun IS just a tool. Hammers can be and have been used to kill humans and other living critters so take that as you will. The tool and restricting who can own said tool is not the answer in my opinion. It is up to the owner of the tool to use that tool responsibly. I do think some people should not be allowed to own certain tools. Do you really want a person with severe mental health troubles owning a power saw? I'll bet the farm you don't want that.
OK, I'm done with issues for today. Still working at getting over this last bout of pneumonia. My hospice nurse came by for her weekly visit yesterday and she said my right lung is still not sounding that great. Well, so what? That is how my life is going and I'm OK with it all. Hells bells, I have known for years now that I am way past my sell by date, so big deal.
Now, let's get down to the reason for today, yep Caturday.
Following are some LOL cats to help you enjoy this Caturday.
As always, please at least TRY to treat everybody you come in contact with each day the way you want to be treated. Yes, I know this can be used to treat some asshats as asshats. Well, if you think they treat you the way they want to be treated, go ahead. Hell folks, you don't need my approval, it is your life, so live it your way. I'd stillest ask that you try and be nice to each other. If we all just try, we can make this a nicer place to live for all of us, yep, even the asshats. Hey, maybe if we treat the asshats as decent folks, e might change them to become nicest the rest of us. Now to me, that would be a good thing for all of us.
And now, enter the Caturday LOL cats.
Until next time. Take care of yourselves and your families. Stay safe people, it's a nasty world out there, but we can make it better for all of us.

I take a short vacation and the same old shit happens…….again
Well shit, I get away from the interwebs for a few days and when I get home and go online what do I see? Another mass killing, this time at a school in Florida. Here is a link on this latest. Yeah, it IS from the spoof news site the Onion and it IS a repeat of the headline they have used many time before. Well, I still think that satire can have more truth to it than the entire US of A MSM combined.
No way to prevent this
I wish I was smart enough to have a solution to this. No, it is NOT a 2nd Amendment thing. The Second Amendment, read it, calls for the ownership of guns to "provide for a well regulated militia". What is a well regulated militia, you ask? Well, the National Guard woks for me. No, I am not against private gun ownership. As long as it is responsible ownership. I was trained in the use of various weapons as a US Marine. Yes, it is true that some of the people who engaged in mass killings in this country were former military people. The Texas college/university shootings many years back was done by a former Marine. Again, I wish I had an answer to how to stop these mass killings. I know it will take more than one very smart person to come up with a decent answer on how to stop this without making personal gun ownership against the law.
Actually, I honestly do think I have a good idea how to start to end this. Yeah, here he goes again with the same old stuff. You bet! TRY, just bloody damn TRY to treat ALL the people you come in contact with every day the way you want to be treated. Until we all just try, we have no idea how much better we CAN make this country and even the entire world for all of us. Come on people, it isn't that hard to do. Give it an honest try. You just might like it.

Just a heads up.
Just wanted to let any regular readers (are there any such?) know that it may be later in the coming week before there is another post here. The boss (aka; my wife) decided we need to take a small vacation. We will be going South, towards the Gulf for a few days. Probably return either later Wednesday or some time Thursday, in case anybody wanted to know.
She feels like we need to get out and about and her health has improved much so there will be a few days with no new posts.
This won't bother many people, after all, I went over one full month with no postings here.
I want to share one small item with you before we go off for our mini vacation. This is a quote from a lady; Florence Rae "Flo" Kennedy. She was born on 11 February 1916. She died in 2000. This is from the web site ffrf.org/news/day/#flo-kennedy.
The quote they have from her on the web site follows; "It's interesting to speculate how it developed in two of the most anti-feminist institutions, the church and the law court, the men are wearing the dresses."
I have added a link to Freethought of the Day on the list of links, in case anybody wants to check it out.
Just something for you to think about. It got me to thinking, or rethinking any way. I cannot stop from laughing when I see the high Roman Catholic church when the celebrate high mass, the priests, bishops, cardinals, and even the pope in their dresses and even with lots and lots of fine lace trimmings. And these guys are supposed to be celibate? Oh, and you are supposed to get marriage counseling from these unmarried men who wear dresses? Give me a fucking break!
OK, until next time, please just TRY to be nice to each other. We only have this one rather small planet to occupy for now, so we'd best try to get along better than we have in our past.
Enjoy your week. We'll do our best to enjoy our mini vacation.

Just a short post for your Sunday.
This is going to be a short post. I have had this since about 1960. I bought it at a place called Knotts Berry Farm in southern California. When I saw it I knew I had to buy it. I think it may have cost me all of one whole dollar back then. I may be wrong on the cost, but hey, this IS 2018 and 1960 was 58 years ago, so if my memory of the price is off some, well, hell, I am 70 years old now. Give me a break. Or not, your choice.
The title is Why Worry? I just feel like sharing it with you all who stop by here.
Why Worry?
There are only two things to worry about- either you are well or you are sick. If you are well, then there is nothing to worry about. But if you are sick, there are two things to worry about. Either you will get well or you will die. If you get well there is nothing to worry about. If you die there are only two things to worry about - either you will go to Heaven or Hell. If you go to Heaven there is nothing to worry about. But if you go to hell, you'll be so damn busy shaking hands with friends you won't have time to worry!
The spelling and punctuation above are exactly as they are on the plaque I bought way back then. So, don't cry to me about improper punctuation/spellings. Myself, I'd never use a capital "C" for either heaven or hell. But of course I am that sort of sarcastic SOB.
Now, this last one is courtesy of Atheist Jack. The link to his Tumblr site is on my list of links on the right hand side of this page. I visit his site every day to see what new goodies he has posted. Yes, I asked his permission to use some of his items and he replied it was A-OK by him. I said I'd give him credit when I did, so there you have it, credit to Atheist Jack for the following.
I think the first one of these fits me quite well. Hey, I have been told by so many during my 70 years in this life that I should go to hell, I figure I ought to check it out. IF it exists that is. No doubt, if it does exist, I will be with many of my real friends and not have time to worry.
The second or last if you prefer is a very good lesson for all humans. As an old pagan/heathen/atheist, when I try and do some good for another living creature, human or other, I don't do it to earn "brownie points" with some doG, nor do I not do something with the fear of said doG punishing me at some future time. Imagine there is no god. I can. by the way, the song "Imagine" by John Lennon is one of the absolute best songs ever. Just my own opinion, yours may vary and that is just fine by me. I am not telling you how to live your life, just offering suggestions and/or alternatives to consider. Your life, your choices. Just do TRY and treat others the way you want to be treated. It just could make this world a much nicer place for all of us.
