Hey everybody, today is Caturday!
Enjoy the day. As always, please try to treat everybody you meet each day the way you want to be treated.

Oh, heck, I just could not resist sharing this one also.

Listening to you favorite music always makes Caturday much better.

20 October 2017

Yes, this photo would have fit really well with the ones I posted  yesterday. Well, it was not up until this evening, so I will share it tonight.  Enjoy, or......well, maybe be afraid......LOL.

Just had to add it.😼
Be good to each other, if we all try this, we will all feel much better.
Just a few photos of the two draw bridges in the area where I live.
First up is the railroad bridge, raised to allow a tug boat and barge to head South on the Red River.

Now the same railroad bridge with a train passing over it. Oh, yeah, the bridge is in the lowered position. I know you good readers knew that, but I'm old and I tend to forget things. Yes, even important things.

Here are a few shots of the other draw bridge we have across the Red River. This is commonly called the Jackson Street bridge. I apologize for not knowing the official name of this bridge. I know I have a photo, someplace on this old iMac of the plaque with its official name on it. Most likely it has the name of one of those Long guys. Well, Huey was THE governor of Louisiana and so was brother Earl.  The bridge is raised as a tugboat and barge proceed up the Red.

Happy Friday to all of you.
Until next time, please try to treat all those you come in contact with the way you want to be treated.

Hey, today is Friday. That means tomorrow is Caturday!!!

Yes, if you hang around this blog long enough, you WILL learn LOL speak.  ðŸ˜¸

I found the photo of the plaque for the Jackson Street bridge. It is below this.
So, by my own reckoning, it is OK to call the bridge the Jackson Street bridge. It was dedicated to the memory of Gillis W. Long. All I know about him is what you see on the plaque.

19 October 2017

For your driving today. Be careful out there folks, there are some nut balls who are also on the roads while you are.

And, as always, please try to treat all the people you come in contact with every day the way you want to be treated.

18 October 2017

When you are on a roll, well, keep rolling.

Here is one I found on some web site many years back. If th person who posted it before I read it ever stops by, I will credit that person for it. I apologize to her or him for not writing down the web site where I saw this. It explains so much, well for me it does.

"The whole idea mankind was in need of redemption in the first place is based on the belief that a couple of nudists, in the very distant past, took dietary advice from a talking snake. And we wonder why the world is the screwed up mess it is."

Think on that for a few seconds, or longer, your choice. Yes folks, I read a lot, every day. I write down things that grab me and save them for later. My personal philosophy, assuming I actually have one, is like the old joke about the menu at the Chinese restaurant  you can one from column A, one from column B, an egg roll, a drink, and a desert.  Yes, I pick and choose what suits my fancy at any given time. I'll admit, my philosophy will never be "carved in stone". I won't have any stone to be carved, I'm going to be cremated! The other reason is, I keep changing as I go through this life, so does my philosophy. I try and pick up the good bits and toss the rest in the trash.

Here is another good one;
Christian (I call them xtians)--Islam and Judaism are wrong
Jew-- Christianity and Islam are wrong
Muslim-- Judaism and Christianity are wrong
Atheist--- You are ALL correct!

One from Mark Twain; "It could be probably be shown by facts that there is no distinctly native American criminal class, except for congress".  Yep, I still refuse to use a capital "c" for that gang of crooks.
Another from Mark; "I know your religion isn't true, the same way you know other peoples' isn't".

Just for fun, go over to You Tube, in the search box, type Weird Al Happy Birthday song and listen to the lyrics.  I am sure there is at least one version there that has the lyrics on the screen. Go on, try it, if you do, I bet you will smile. Heck, you may even laugh out loud.

Until the next post from this broken down old guy, please try to treat all those you meet every day the way you want to be treated.
Just a small clarification for readers of this blog. Any time I mention Rush, I will NOT be talking about that moronic ass rush limpburger. No folks, any mention by me of Rush here will be about the band Rush. Yes, I do like their music.
That other rush is a drug addict and a total asshat clown. By the way, he has not been in the news much at all of late, and that is a very good thing.
Rush, on the other hand is still playing good rock music.

Just HAD to add this photo. Yeah, you bet I laughed the first time I saw it at LOL cats and still do, even right now.  I told you, I am a sarcastic old SOB.

Until next time, please TRY to treat all the people you meet every day the way you want to be treated.

17 October 2017

This is what my profile photo should look like. For some reason, known only to giggle, who hosts this blog, the one in my profile part on this blog came out blurry and out of focus.
Again, this is neither me, nor my kitten. I currently do not have any cats nor kittens in this apartment where I live. Also, and this is the truth, taking my photo WILL break your camera.

OK, one more link to share also. Yeah, I know, it IS about Hi-Larry Clintstone and her hatred for Russia, Putin, and who knows what else. Oh, her hatred of all of us who did not vote for her sorry, old, extremely LAME ass!
Bear with me, the link is to Russia Insider. Well, just go ahead and call me a pinko, commie SOB, or any other name you choose. I served HONORABLY in the US Marine Corps. What did you do?
I love my country, but the bloody damn fool gummint can go to hell, do not pass Go, do not collect even 2 cents!

And you thought Hillary was acting strange

Click on the link. You know you want to. Hey, there is even a short, less than 10 minute video to go with the article. Come on, you know you just cannot get enough about this aged old bimbo. They even have that bit of her telling about Libya. You know the one I mean. Yeah, where she says, "We came, we saw, he died".  Yep, THAT one. Unfortunately, the video cuts out her manic cackle at the end. THAT one I saved to my hard drive and 2, yes 2, external hard drives, just in case some gummint agency tries to get me to erase the one on the iMac hard drive. Hell, I may even go get one of them there thumb drive things just as an added backup.

Well, as always, until next time; please try to treat everybody the way you want to be treated. We CAN make this planet a much better place for all f we do this.

16 October 2017

Another short post today.
Yeah, I'm a bit lazy and not feeling so great. I have some links for you folks to check if you feel up to it.
At least two readers have seen two of the links already. Yes, it does help if you are a long time email friend of this broken down old guy.
OK, the first two are from the Onion. Yes, yes, I DO know that is a spoof news/satire site. Well, satire CAN be more honest that what passes as MSM in this 'Merikkka today. Get over it, follow these links or not, your choice.

Historic Trust Raise Millions

OK, another one, maybe.
No way to prevent this

Now this next one is a movie at You Tube. It is a war movie. Not your usual war movie and it is about WW2. It is in Chinese, BUT it does have English subtitles. A very good review of this film is at Bill the Butchers blog. The movie is titled "Purple Sunset".  Go to Bills' blog, the link is on the right side of this blog for his review of the film. Yes, I watched the film and cannot do a better review than Bill has. I can only, in my wildest dreams, even start to imagine how to write even 1/100th as well as Bill does.
It isn't a very long film, just about 1 hour 39 minutes. The cinematography is superb. the scenery, absolutely beautiful. The three main actors are excellent. The film shows the ending of WW2 in China, just after Russia, OK the USSR (as it was then) had entered that war against Japan. Like Bill, I will NOT tell you the ending.
I did not really want to watch the film. While I have managed to put my war memories in a nice box, on a shelf, in a closet and close the closet door-----they DO get out now and then. They got out in full fury when W. Shrub invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. They got out when the last POTUS, yes, the (ig)Nobel piece prizident turned into the drone king and had his kill lists. Hell, that beats old Dick Nixon and his enemies list to hell and gone.
Surprisingly, my war memories didn't get very far out of the box after watching this film. Probably due to the fact that is is so very unlike anything Hollywierd could ever make.
It is a very touching, human story and I highly recommend it to all of you.
Here is the link to the movie.

Purple Sunset

OK, the link sort of works. It gets you to You Tube. Just type Purple Sunset into the search bar and it will get you to the film. I think giggle is messing with me and my links since I am critical of the orange haired occupant of the White House. Yeah, I believe them dang Ruskies rather than WaPo or NYT.You can include ALL US TV channels in the list I do not trust. Well, all I can say to giggle is, tough bean and hard cheese.

Until next time, remember, never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have. With thanks to Margaret Mead.
Treat all you come in contact with each day the way you want to be treated.
Oh nuts, I cannot resist adding this sarcastic comment. IF any of those you come in contact with treat you like crap, just give them a good, hard, swift kick.  As my senior DI in Marine boot camp taught us, ALWAYS kick the opponent when he/she is down. That way you don't have to raise your foot too high.
Seriously though, TRY to be good to everybody, yes, even the bloody asshats.

Well, it sure has been a long time
