Hey everybody, it's Caturday!

Not to spoil your Caturday, but I need to get you folks to read an article that I think everybody needs to read. It was written by a friend of mine. We have never met in person, but have exchanged emails and our own views over some years. I wish I could write even one tenth as well as Missy does. She keeps her articles short and to the point. Me, well, I go on and on……nearly without end. I also tend to go off on odd tangents. Well, without further comment from me, here is her latest article. It was posted to the Counterpunch web site last weekend. Yes, I am slow lately. Well, my health has decided to interfere with my posting and even my web surfing recently. It may improve, but I recommend nobody holds their breath waiting for any improvement in my health. As I have stated numerous times, I am way past my sell by date.

I am not sure about promising to post more often, so all I can do is say that I';; try and post more here. I'll at least do my best to stay current with the Caturday postings.

I suppose I should apologize as I missed Caturday posting last Caturday. Well, I wasn't feeling very good so that will have to satisfy you as an apology, or what will pass as one.

Yes folks, it is once again Caturday. Funny how this comes around every week. Well, as an earlier posting of a small LOL cat says, when you retire every day is Caturday. 
I am still sick at heart over the recent mass killings at a school in Florida. I posted a bit on this the other day and really have nothing else to add to that post. As I said then and a time or more before, I am NOT against personal gun ownership. I also stated the fact that I own more than one gun. A gun is just a tool. Yes, it is not a tool that will help you build something, like a hammer is a tool that you can use to build something. Still, a gun IS just a tool. Hammers can be and have been used to kill humans and other living critters so take that as you will. The tool and restricting who can own said tool is not the answer in my opinion. It is up to the owner of the tool to use that tool responsibly. I do think some people should not be allowed to own certain tools. Do you really want a person with severe mental health troubles owning a power saw? I'll bet the farm you don't want that.

OK, I'm done with issues for today. Still working at getting over this last bout of pneumonia. My hospice nurse came by for her weekly visit yesterday and she said my right lung is still not sounding that great. Well, so what? That is how my life is going and I'm OK with it all. Hells bells, I have known for years now that I am way past my sell by date, so big deal. 
Now, let's get down to the reason for today, yep Caturday.

As always, please at least TRY to treat everybody you come in contact with each day the way you want to be treated. Yes, I know this can be used to treat some asshats as asshats. Well, if you think they treat you the way they want to be treated, go ahead. Hell folks, you don't need my approval, it is your life, so live it your way. I'd stillest ask that you try and be nice to each other. If we all just try, we can make this a nicer place to live for all of us, yep, even the asshats. Hey, maybe if we treat the asshats as decent folks, e might change them to become nicest the rest of us. Now to me, that would be a good thing for all of us.

I take a short vacation and the same old shit happens…….again

Well shit, I get away from the interwebs for a few days and when I get home and go online what do I see? Another mass killing, this time at a school in Florida. Here is a link on this latest. Yeah, it IS from the spoof news site the Onion and it IS a repeat of the headline they have used many time before. Well, I still think that satire can have more truth to it than the entire US of A MSM combined.

No way to prevent this

I wish I was smart enough to have a solution to this. No, it is NOT a 2nd Amendment thing. The Second Amendment, read it, calls for the ownership of guns to "provide for a well regulated militia". What is a well regulated militia, you ask? Well, the National Guard woks for me. No, I am not against private gun ownership. As long as it is responsible ownership. I was trained in the use of various weapons as a US Marine. Yes, it is true that some of the people who engaged in mass killings in this country were former military people. The Texas college/university shootings many years back was done by a former Marine. Again, I wish I had an answer to how to stop these mass killings. I know it will take more than one very smart person to come up with a decent answer on how to stop this without making personal gun ownership against the law.

Actually, I honestly do think I have a good idea how to start to end this. Yeah, here he goes again with the same old stuff. You bet! TRY, just bloody damn TRY to treat ALL the people you come in contact with every day the way you want to be treated. Until we all just try, we have no idea how much better we CAN make this country and even the entire world for all of us. Come on people, it isn't that hard to do. Give it an honest try. You just might like it. 

Just a heads up.

Just wanted to let any regular readers (are there any such?) know that it may be later in the coming week before there is another post here. The boss (aka; my wife) decided we need to take a small vacation. We will be going South, towards the Gulf for a few days. Probably return either later Wednesday or some time Thursday, in case anybody wanted to know.
She feels like we need to get out and about and her health has improved much so there will be a few days with no new posts.
This won't bother many people, after all, I went over one full month with no postings here.

Just something for you to think about. It got me to thinking, or rethinking any way. I cannot stop from laughing when I see the high Roman Catholic church when the celebrate high mass, the priests, bishops, cardinals, and even the pope in their dresses and even with lots and lots of fine lace trimmings. And these guys are supposed to be celibate? Oh, and you are supposed to get marriage counseling from these unmarried men who wear dresses? Give me a fucking break!

Just a short post for your Sunday.

This is going to be a short post. I have had this since about 1960. I bought it at a place called Knotts Berry Farm in southern California. When I saw it I knew I had to buy it. I think it may have cost me all of one whole dollar back then. I may be wrong on the cost, but hey, this IS 2018 and 1960 was 58 years ago, so if my memory of the price is off some, well, hell, I am 70 years old now. Give me a break. Or not, your choice.

The title is Why Worry? I just feel like sharing it with you all who stop by here.

Why Worry?
There are only two things to worry about- either you are well or you are sick. If you are well, then there is nothing to worry about. But if you are sick, there are two things to worry about. Either you will get well or you will die. If you get well there is nothing to worry about. If you die there are only two things to worry about - either you will go to Heaven or Hell. If you go to Heaven there is nothing to worry about. But if you go to hell, you'll be so damn busy shaking hands with friends you won't have time to worry!
The spelling and punctuation above are exactly as they are on the plaque I bought way back then. So, don't cry to me about improper punctuation/spellings. Myself, I'd never use a capital "C" for either heaven or hell. But of course I am that sort of sarcastic SOB.

I visit his site every day to see what new goodies he has posted. Yes, I asked his permission to use some of his items and he replied it was A-OK by him. I said I'd give him credit when I did, so there you have it, credit to Atheist Jack for the following. 

I think the first one of these fits me quite well. Hey, I have been told by so many during my 70 years in this life that I should go to hell, I figure I ought to check it out. IF it exists that is. No doubt, if it does exist, I will be with many of my real friends and not have time to worry.
The second or last if you prefer is a very good lesson for all humans. As an old pagan/heathen/atheist, when I try and do some good for another living creature, human or other, I don't do it to earn "brownie points" with some doG, nor do I not do something with the fear of said doG punishing me at some future time. Imagine there is no god. I can. by the way, the song "Imagine" by John Lennon is one of the absolute best songs ever. Just my own opinion, yours may vary and that is just fine by me. I am not telling you how to live your life, just offering suggestions and/or alternatives to consider. Your life, your choices. Just do TRY and treat others the way you want to be treated. It just could make this world a much nicer place for all of us. 

It's Caturday………again

Well, I suppose I could rant on and on how some moronic asshats are still harping about how the Russians "stole" the last election here in 'Merikkka. Notice I said I suppose I could do that. Well, tough beans and hard cheese folks, I'm still not quite up to that yet. I do feel like I am getting better each day, and I have been reading more of my usual news sites recently, just don't yet feel up to giving my opinion on this crapola just now except to say it IS crap. Not just any old crap, but more like a large field of fresh cow pies. For those of you who have never been around a dairy, cow pie is a term used to describe cow poop/manure. Walk through a dairy, no, not the dairies that are passed off as such in SoCal, is there are still any there now days. They were getting fewer every year before I left that area in the spring of 2000. I mean, go to a real dairy farm like there used to be when I was a kid in southern Wisconsin. Walk through the fields where the cows were turned out to after morning milking. Mind you step or you will be scrapping cow shit off your shoes/boots for a long time. Basically, do not step in cow  pies.
Over at Black Agenda Report there is an article about the current memo that has been in the news recently. The US MSM is calling said memo a "nothing burger". Well, that may be, however the article at Black Agenda Report says it is a "Whopper with fries". Not quite what we'd call a "nothing burger" at all. FISA memo is Not a nothing burger

OK, ok, so I did post a link to the article. I will say I tend to agree with the author and leave it there for now. When I get a bit more rested I may have more to say on the matter. And yet, I wonder what the hell is this all for. Seriously folks, it is over one full year that the orange haired rodent has been occupying the office of POTUS and still there are many who cannot/will not accept the election outcome. Where the hell were these moronic asshats back in 2000? It was clear that W. Shrub had lost that election and yet these same fools who feel Hi-Larry was robbed allowed the nine fools (aka; the supreme court) to put the very same W. Shrub into the office of POTUS. If they could allow that, why not the current occupant? Just because Hi-Larry was supposed to be coronated as the 'savior' of 'Merikkka? Well, with crap advisors like Madass Albright who said no "real" woman could vote for any other candidate than Hi-Larry, I think we'd be way worse off had that old dried up hag won the election outright. Yeah, ok, she supposedly did win the popular vote, BUT, Trump won the electoral college vote. Which prompts the following question. What are the requirements to get into this electoral college? What exams does one have to take and pass to become a student at said college? Yes, I AM being a bit snarky as the electoral college is NOT a real college, in that there is no learning there. Actually, in my opinion, anybody with the smallest bit of real smarts would be rejected from said 'college' ASAP they found you to have real smarts. 
Well hell, I did post some commentary after all. Well, enough of that mess. Today IS Caturday so…….time for more LOL Cats.

Yeah, I'm still alive

Well, sorry to ruin your new year, but I am still among the living. OK, maybe just still among the living, but at any rate, I ain't dead yet. Came bloody damn close recently, but well, here I still am. Looking at my old iMac and working on a new blog post.
I still don't quite feel up to any deep look at the news just yet. Good for you all, I won't comment on the SOTU address given by the orange haired rodent. From my view point the state of the union is pretty goddamn piss poor. MAGA? Where? When? Oh, as to that slogan, when was 'Merikkka so 'great' in the first place? Maybe in the 1950's? Yeah, possibly as this was one of the few large countries that didn't suffer direct attack during WW2. Actually, 'Merikkka was the only major industrialized nation that was not attacked during WW2, nope Hawaii don't count. It was NOT a state until 1960,just like Alaska. Or was that 1959? Hell, I don't remember, am too damn lazy to look it up and don't really care very much. I do know in December 1941 Hawaii was NOT a US state, just a territory, likePuerto Rico still is today, even though Trump treats that poor place like it doesn't count  for anything. 
OK, as I am not up to politics nor news events, what else is there to post? Well, I could put links to some good songs, but I'd have to hunt the links off You Tube. Oh, hey, tomorrow is Caturday…….so, as a pre Caturday and my first post since the last day of 2017…..LOL Cats it is. Also, I see the winter olympics are going to take place soon. Yeah, I know I used a lower case"o" in the word olympics. Big damn deal, I don't watch either the winter nor the summer 'games'. Too many professionals entered in both of them. Any who, I have a few Olympic LOL cats for you. So, away we go……..

OH, FYI, there just may be a few non-olympic LOL cats included. Why? Because I feel like adding them. You do your blog your way, I'll do my blog (this one) my way. Fair is fair.

As we walk into 2018…...

Well, today, here in 'Merikkka, at least on the continent of North America, it is New Years Eve. So, just because of this fact of the calendar, some new years LOL cats. Not too many though, don't want anybody to over indulge.
