I suppose I could go off on a rant about how really screwed 'Merikkka is with the orange haired rodent nominating Pompeo to be Secretary of State and how he wants to put a nasty female type as head of the CIA. Yes, I did write female type as opposed to woman. Why? Because I do not think any decent woman would have ever been involved in the crap this female has done during her career. She supposedly was in charge of a secret CIA prison in Thailand for crap sake. Oh, and to top off the shit storm, we may see that total asshat Bolton again. Yeah, he may be making a come back of sorts in the State Department of all places. Jeebus H. Christ he should have been retired permanently to the rubber room years ago.
Well, it seems these old neo-cons never go away. Will we have to endure Mr. 5 deferments Cheney again as well? Oh, Cheney is from Wyoming. When I was in the Marines, a buddy of mine who was from Colorado had a saying about Wyoming. He used to have to go to that state to fix broken trucks later after we both left the Marines.
His saying about Wyoming was; Wyoming, where men are men. Women are scarce, and the sheep are scared. Take that Dick! Hope his pacemaker goes nuts.
OK, now for some fun things. Yes,it IS satire, deal with it, to not. Your life, your choice.
Furiously spinning White House door
Oh come ON, it IS funny. Has anybody kept a count of the number of people who have quit the current POTUS? I haven't. I sort of thought about keeping a count of those who left/quit, but by then end of his first few months in office, well, the numbers were getting too high and I have more to do than keep count of the losses.
Facebook reminds users
Hey, if you still use farcebook ,well, you signed up for this crap.
Facebook algorithm mortified
Wow, even the programing code is feeling like crap over what it has done. The people who run farcebook? Um, not so much.
Researchers find decline in Facebook
Of course you could try this yourself and see if you agree with the researchers. Just a thought. Again, you life, your choice.
OK, this one is not quite so funny. It deals with these driverless cars that Uber and others are unleashing on us all. Yes, I know, a woman was killed by one of these things recently. The Onion decided to do this next story any who. Read it or not. It is not quite funny, but it is a bit creepy.
As you can see, they are quite harmless says Uber rep
Well, that is more than enough from me for now. I'll try and be back for Caturday. I've found some new LOL cats that I really like and you may also. See you on Caturday, if not sooner, and we'll all see.
Until next time, just try to not be mean to others. Oh, who am I kidding? You will all do whatever the hell you want to do. Yeah, I'm not going to ask you to treat others the same way you want to be treated nor will I ask you to just try that not even going to ask you to be nice to each other. You are all tired of reading that and I'm past trying to make a difference. I DO think it would be a much nicer world if we all did just TRY as I have been asking since the early posts here, but hells bells, it doesn't seem to have any positive effect, so, I won't ask any more. (hears the readership cheering wildly).

Another crap day, but some good songs to help make it nicer
Still not feeling very good today, but I decided to post some links to three good songs to try and make up for my crap attitude.
Yeah, it's Paul Simon day at the Korner. I have not had any requests for any song yet so, I'll just post the ones I like. Will I ever consider posting a requested song? Maybe. I'd need a link to hear it first. If I like it or think others might like it, I'd probably post a link to it. Just go back a few posts her and re-listen to the one I linked to; "Write Me a Song". Yep, I don't want any sad songs. I prefer upbeat songs. From those I posted yesterday, you can see I like fun songs as well.
OK, here we go with three from Paul Simon.
I still have fond memories of good old Kodachrome, damn nice film, even though you had to send it off for processing.
Kodachrome
You can call me Al
Great video of Paul and Chevy Chase acting up. Great song also.
The Boy in the Bubble
OK, that is all for today. Oh, tomorrow is Caturday again. Yes, I do have a bunch of LOL cats set to pounce here for Caturday. Wait for it……..it is still Friday here in CenLa.
Until then, just please TRY to be nice to each other.

Trump proves beyond any doubt that 'Merikkka is a failed mess
OK, how's that for a provocative headline? Did it get your attention? Probably not, but big damn deal. He got rid of Tillerson only to now want to put this Pompeo critter, who has been the CIA main critter until now as our Secretary of State. Oh, he, the orange haired rodent, wants to turn the running of the CIA over to a woman who was part of the torture mess when W. Shrub was POTUS and this same woman had a hand in running a secret CIA prison in Thailand in 2002 where prisoners were waterboarded.
So, now just try, goddamn father fucking TRY to tell me that 'Merikkka is not going to total shit. Come on, I dare you to even try telling me how the orange haired rodent is "making 'Merikkka great again". Again? Screw that shit right now. When was 'Merikkka ever great? Oh sure in the late 1940's and into the 50's it was better off than most of the rest of the world. Well, that was because most all of Europe and Russia/the Soviet Union and Japan were still trying to bury their dead and rebuild after WW2. South America and Australia were not attacked, but the economies of those places weren't a match for 'Merikkka at the time. So, ok, maybe, in some respects 'Merikkka was "great" compared to the rest of the world. However, we got fat and damn lazy and by the late 60's/early 70's this country was being left behind. Any of you old enough to remember the first gasoline crunch? I remember that time. Lines to buy gas, gas available only during certain hours of the day. Made life a bit rough for us working class folks, but what the hell, that is how the system was built up in the first place. Screw the working class, as long as the rich get ever richer, then all is right in the world. Yep, the real golden rule; them what has the gold makes the rules. Oh, and the working class does not have the gold.
Well fuck it! Seriously. I am damn near considering ending this blog and just taking my computer to the junk shop and busting into tiny parts. Run the damn thing through an industrial strength shredder.
Hell, my health is failing faster than I figured it would. Actually I am not upset by that. I had thought, once upon a time, that when my end came near I'd fight for every last second of it. Now, I think I'd be very happy to just go to sleep tonight and never wake up again. I'm tired, tired of fighting the system. Tired of fighting with very, very few who give a shit about the fight. Yeah, go back a few posts and listen to that song "Monster" again. Remember the words? "America where are you now? Don't you care about your sons and daughters? Don't you know we need you now? We can't fight alone against the monster." Yeah, well, where the hell is everybody? Oh, right, got their noses buried in farcebook, twitter, snapchat, or some other bullshit "social media" crap hole.
Piss on that shit people. I'm 70 years old, in very poor health and I'm fucking wore out from a life time of trying to get people to listen. Oh, I won't just quit. Never learned how to do that. Wish I could though. Instead I may just stop reading any hard news sites. Yeah, that might work, just check the LOL cats, the Onion, Babylonbee.com and maybe a blog to three.
Well, just because I feel like shit, all I am going to add today are a few links to some fun old songs. I might post some LOL cats for this coming Caturday, but if you want commentary on the news, well, you may not find that here much ever again. Maybe never again. I am wore out, tired nearly all day long, and just getting to where I don't know if me giving a shit matters any more. Hell, I wonder if it ever did matter. Yeah, tell me I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself. Well, that is your opinion, but it is wrong. I'm just goddamn tired is all.
OK, here we go with some great old songs. Enjoy them, or not, your choice.
Little Nash Rambler
Along came Jones
Poison Ivy
Yakety Yak
Charlie Brown
Searching'
Well, that is more than I planned to post so, enjoy these great old songs. Yes, I listened to them all way back when they were new. There was a diner that had min juke boxes at each booth when I was a kid in northern Illinois. Every time we went there to eat, I always played the Beep beep song and Charlie Brown. Oh, each song only cost a whole nickel to play. They even got to where you could play six (6) song for a quarter. Sounded like a sweet deal, except my entire weekly allowance back then was a quarter.
Well, until next time, IF there is a next time, try and be nice to each other. Or, if you want to act like an asshat, go ahead and do so. Just don't cry to me if somebody kicks the crap out of you for acting like an asshat. Hey, this IS 'Merikkka in 2018 and it seems that everybody is highly pissed at everybody else, so you may want to be a bit careful. Your life, your choice. Me, I'm not going to change. I'm still going to try and treat all those I come in contact with each day the way I want to be treated. Yeah, even though I am pissed off and am looking forward with great anticipation to my last breath, I'll still try to be nice to others. Why? Because that is how I want to live my life. My life, my choices. Deal with it……or not, Your choice.

Just found this and it needed to be shared
Had a rough night. Woke up early and found the following at good old (he may not be that old, it's just an expression) Atheist Jack. It does help overcome the sadness of the death of Stephen Hawking yesterday.
Stephen Hawking doG
Hey, I enjoyed it. If it offends your religious fantasies, well, tough beans and hard cheese.

A sad news day
Well, this shows I need to look at the real news (assuming such still exists) before checking the Onion.
Stephen Hawking died today. He was 76 and had dealt with having ALS for his entire adult life. This man explored more of the universe from a wheel chair than the rest of us can even begin to imagine.
I have a copy of one of his popular books; "A Brief History of Time: From the Big Bang to Black Holes". I have reread that book more than a few times.
Humanity lost one of its brightest thinkers and one of our most original today.
I has a sad.

I just could not pass up sharing this one
Hey there readers, I was surfing the old interwebs this morning and when I went to one of my favorite sites, yep, the Onion, I found an article that I knew immediately I needed to share with you.
I just found out about socks
Now of course me being an old broken down heather/pagan/atheist I knew this moron MUST be one of them new college graduate from 'Merikkka. Yeah, so I did serve honorably in the US Marines and even did a tour in that damn fool, useless war in Vietnam. Well, I figure I earned the right to be as critical of 'Merikkka as anybody else.
Oh, just a bit of FYI (for your information) to add on to this article. Did you know that socks were actually invented as hand warmers? Yep, tis true, but, that idea went down to defeet. De feet. Get it? Oh, come ON people, it is a joke. If you didn't at least almost sort of smile at that, well, you are one damn good liar. Bet some of you laughed hard enough to need to clean your keyboards. Yes, that joke is older than the hills and twice as dusty, but some of those oldies are still goodies.
OK, one more oldie. A big moron and a little moron were sitting on a fence. The big moron fell off. Why didn't the little moron fall off? Because he was a little more on.
OK, I know, don't quit my day job. Well, as I have told you many times before, I don't have a day job, nor any job at all. I was declared permanently unemployable after a marathon 11.5 hour surgery to repair the damage to my spine many years ago. Also, I had my 70th birthday this past December, so there. What passes as my day job is listening to music and surfing the interwebs.
OK, until next post, just TRY to treat all those you meet each day the way you want to be treated. I'll try, notice I said try, to keep the old jokes to a minimum.

Some extras for Caturday.
Well, it IS my own fault. See, I CAN admit to making a mistake. Oh, wait, I did that here a few posts back.
Any who, I was surfing the interwebs after posting the Caturday LOL cats and found some neat extras to share today.
First up, a nice short bit from the Onion. Hmm, seems those ancient Greeks anticipated Hollyweird and the cult of celebrity. Well, IF you believe the Onion they did. Hey, it's all in fun people. Come ON, we all need a good laugh or at least a smile every now and then. (My opinion, the LOL cats should do that, but what do I know?)
Ancient Greeks immediately regretted inventing theater
Next up is a quote from H. L. Mencken. This was on the Freedom From Religion web site today as one of their Free Thought of the Day posts.
Mencken quote
The above quote works for me. Well of course it does, me being an old broken down heathen/pagan/atheist SOB. If it offends you, well tough beans and hard cheese. Words don't harm people, people harm people. Take THAT NRA! As Bugs Bunny would say; ain't I a stinker? Well, actually I'm not that stinky, I did have a nice warm shower last night so I'm fairly clean and unstinky today.
Night time for the generals
This song is from the very same album "American Dream" by C,S,N,&Y. Like the song I posted earlier today, this one is very relevant today, maybe even more so than when it came out. Just look at the staff at the White House, the orange haired rodent (our current POTUS) seems to have more retired generals on his staff than most defense (??) contractors have. Of course they don't seem to stay around very long. Well, as an old WW2/Korean war general said; Old soldiers never die, they just fade away.
Hey, that reminds me, old dentists never die. They just lose their patients. I know, I know, don't quit my day job. Well, I'm on Social Security, over 70 years old now and severely disabled. I have no day job to quit. How about that! I get the last laugh. If you think you can top it, just post a comment. If it isn't vile, I'll approve it and post it here.
OK, you know what is coming now…….yep, please try and treat all others you come in contact with every day the way you want to be treated. You know I am going to keep asking you to do this as long as I can get to this old iMac and hit a few keys on the old keyboard. If sarcastic/cynical/SOB me can try to do this, it should be very easy for you people. Just TRY, that isn't too much to ask for.

It's Caturday again!
Greetings readers. Well, like clock work, it is Caturday once again. In not so very old 'Merikkka, today is the last real day we'll have for a while. How is that you ask? Well, tomorrow morning, at about 2AM, we goto "daylight savings time". Now of course this messing with the clocks twice a year saves absolutely NO daylight at all. Studies have been done, by folks who know what they are doing even, that show this clock foolishness actually costs more than it ever could have saved had it worked as planned. It should be obvious to even those with minimal brain power that one cannot ever save daylight. The sun will shine for a certain number of hours each day, depending on where in our orbit around our local star, the sun, the planet is.
Ok, enough of my personal rant on this stupidity of changing the clocks.
It's Caturday and you stopped by here today for the LOL cats, so, here we go then. Enjoy and have the best Caturday possible.
OK, that will do for today. I don't want to give you good people LOL cat overload.
Oh, one more link, just because I was listening to my iPod/MP3 player and this song is on it. Actually it is on the player and my iTunes library in more than one playlist. It fit when the album was released back in 1988. The album is "American Dream" by Crosby, stills, Nash & Young (often referred to as CSN&Y, or even C,S,N & sometimes Y). The song is "Shadow Land" and I think it fits as well today as it did back in 1988. Give it a good listen. Sorry, this You Tube version does not include the Lyrics. You can find the lyrics at web sites like Lyrics Mode.com among others. OK, here is the link to the song.
Shadow Land
Yes, I admit, the song is a bit of a wet blanket on a nice Caturday, but I just felt like sharing it today.
As always, until next time, please just TRY to treat all those you meet each day the way you want to be treated.

Just a pre Caturday taste of LOL cats.
Not feeling up to posting any hard news today. I'm going to give my BP med a few days to lower that before I post hard news. That usually gets my BP way up and according to the last time a medical professional checked mine, I was close to having a stroke, so, today it will just be a pre Caturday posting of some extra LOL cats.
Yeah, I know, some are thinking (maybe even out loud) why doesn't the old fart just kick off already. Well, that may coming sooner than any expect, but it hasn't happened yet. Obviously.
OK, the pre Caturday photos;
OK, until Caturday this will probably be all from me today.
Until then, please just TRY to be nice to everybody you meet each day. We can make this world a much nicer place for all life, we just need to try.
